Horses

We run from 12 - 15 mares and try to produce 6 - 10 high quality colts a year. All of the mares that we raise ourselves are started under saddle and are ridden, and most of the mares we have purchased have also been ridden. Several have had successful performance careers before entering the mare band. We breed to our own stallions and to very selected outside stallions to achieve specific breeding objectives. Our colts all get a lot of hands on attention prior to being started here on the ranch or by a professional trainer.

Cattle

We run a medium sized registered Angus cow and calf operation. We have selected the individuals for our foundation herd from some of the top cows of reputation Angus breeders. We breed for high quality and marketable genetics.

We raise commercial grain crops and, in addition to feed for our cattle operations, we raise and market hay specifically produced for horse operations.

Cougarand-Reference

Cougarand is a money earner in both reining and cutting. Cougarand has his NCHA Certificate of Ability and is the sire of cutting, reining and ranch horse winners such as Doc Cougarand who has the NCHA COA as well as AQHA ROMs. He is the sire of Cougarand Command who was the 1995 Congress Non-Futurity Champion and a 1995 NHRA Non-Pro Futurity Finalist. Cougarand is also the sire of Blue Eyed Cougar, the AQHA Cowboy Ranch Horse Champion and Cougaranda, the 1994 World Champion Palomino Reining Champion and the 1994 Dixie Nationals Reining Champion.
